Lord Cassian von-Vane
Imperial Surveyor
Lord Cassian von-Vane
Species
Lithic Arcanterran
Appearance
Lord Cassian von-Vane is a tall, narrow figure of pale slate-gray stone whose surface has the smooth polish of a ceremonial monument, interrupted by hairline seams around his throat, knuckles, and temples. His ice-blue eyes are perfectly still until he notices an inconsistency, at which point tiny concentric rings ripple through the irises like disturbed water. His dark hair is groomed into an immaculate side part, each strand glossy and rigid enough to resemble lacquered wire. He moves with economical precision, never wasting a gesture, yet his footsteps produce a faint, almost musical click against stone. The contradictory impression is that of an elegant courtier carved from a tomb effigy, softened only by the careful way he adjusts a chair for someone else before sitting.
“His voice is low, polished, and precisely enunciated, with a faint resonant undertone like words spoken inside a vaulted crypt. He rarely uses slang.”

Distinguishing Features
Hairline silver cracks at his temples brighten whenever a deep seismic pulse occurs
An ivory stylus engraved with the names of every frontier administrator convicted during his audits
A faint vibration in his chest that can be heard by anyone standing close in absolute silence
A single black stone tooth set among otherwise pale stone teeth
His shadow sometimes trembles a heartbeat before the surrounding ground does
Voice
“Measured, elegant, and faintly resonant, like a magistrate speaking through a stone chamber”
Clothing
A tailored, high-collared imperial diplomatic coat of deep charcoal wool trimmed with fine silver thread, reinforced beneath the lining with flexible scale plates. He wears a cream waistcoat, dark gloves, pristine leather riding boots, a silver signet chain, and a narrow slate-colored mantle bearing the seal of the Imperial High Council.
Body Language
Cassian stands perfectly upright with his hands folded behind his back, turning his entire torso toward whoever speaks instead of merely moving his head. He angles his chin down when judging a document and slightly up when judging a person. Under stress, his fingers tap a silent rhythm against his wrist in time with the deep seismic pulses.
