Ilyra bint-Kian
Wizard, Atmospheric Vanguard
Ilyra bint-Kian
Species
Air Genasi
Appearance
Ilyra is tall and finely proportioned, with translucent skin that catches lamplight in pale blue and pearl-colored fractures, as though a storm cloud had been shaped into glass. Her silver-white hair never lies still, lifting in slow currents even inside sealed rooms. Her face is composed and beautiful at first glance, but close inspection reveals fatigue around the mouth and a small scar across her left palm, burned there by a failed atmospheric array. She moves with economical grace, rarely planting both feet at once, and gives the unsettling impression of leaning into a wind no one else can feel. The unexpected contradiction is her hands: broad, callused, and stained with bronze dust from years of repairing instruments herself.
“Her voice is low, clear, and unhurried, carrying the dry resonance of wind through a stone throat. In ordinary conversation she speaks with careful warmth.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin scar crosses her left palm in the shape of a branching lightning fork.
Tiny bronze calibration rings orbit her left wrist when she casts a spell.
Her hair moves in an unseen breeze even in airtight chambers.
Her footsteps make almost no sound, but nearby hanging chains tremble when she is agitated.
Her reflection sometimes turns its head a heartbeat after she does.
Voice
“A low, glass-clear contralto with a faint undertone like distant chimes vibrating in a canyon”
Clothing
Deep indigo monastic robes tailored close at the wrists and ankles, woven with silver conductive thread. Over them she wears a sleeveless bronze-and-leather harness fitted with pressure gauges, signal chimes, chalk capsules, and emergency seal plates. A narrow articulated bronze breathing circlet rests across her nose and temples, not because she needs it, but because it filters dust during canyon rescues.
Body Language
Ilyra keeps one hand near her resonance staff and the other slightly open, feeling pressure changes through her palm. In conversation she tilts her head toward distant sounds, as if listening through stone. Under stress, the air around her sleeves begins to spiral. When someone earns her trust, she stands close enough for them to feel the faint warmth of her body and the cool draft moving through her hair.
