Appearance
Aetherwright Thalia bint-Rabi is a kinetic, perpetually moving figure whose storm-blue skin seems to hold faint lightning beneath its surface. Tiny sparks crawl across her knuckles whenever she is irritated, excited, or concentrating. Her wild black hair has been hacked unevenly at the sides and tied back with a loop of bare copper wire, though loose strands repeatedly escape and stand out as if caught in a private breeze. Her sharp amber eyes flick constantly from face to face, then to every hinge, gauge, seam, and moving part in the room. She moves with abrupt, economical gestures, often leaning into a machine before she has finished speaking to a person. Ink, grease, powdered brass, and pale salt stains mark her hands and clothing in permanent layers. She gives the impression of a thunderstorm trapped inside a workshop. Unexpectedly, beneath her rough practical exterior, she has an almost delicate touch with injured birds, cracked instruments, and frightened children.
“Fast, clipped, technical, and impatient, with sudden pauses whenever she hears machinery change pitch. Her voice has a dry rasp like wind over copper wire.”

Distinguishing Features
Fine silver scars circle both wrists from the Kestrel Spire rescue.
A small brass pressure gauge is embedded beneath the skin of her left palm.
Her hair lifts in a constant invisible draft.
Her irises narrow into jagged lightning shapes during moments of stress.
She smells faintly of ozone, hot metal, bitter tea, and machine oil.
Voice
“A brisk contralto with a metallic edge, usually speaking at workshop speed and punctuating sentences with the clicks of tools.”
Clothing
Reinforced charcoal work garments beneath a heavily modified engineering harness covered in pouches, clipped gauges, coils of wire, folded diagrams, brass tags, and emergency sealant. Protective brass goggles rest on her forehead. Her boots have magnetic soles, and her sleeves are rolled to reveal insulated copper bracelets.
Body Language
She rarely stands still. Her fingers tap valve rhythms against her thigh, her head tilts toward distant machinery, and her shoulders angle toward the nearest exit or control panel. When angry, the air around her hair begins to stir. When genuinely worried, she becomes unnervingly motionless and listens for sounds no one else can hear.
