The Ashen Threefold Ward

You enter a circular chamber where the air tastes of old pennies and wet ash. A bronze door fills the far wall, its surface blistered by age and engraved with a sun, a crow skull, and a buried face. Three loose limestone plates sit in a row before it. Thin bronze grooves connect the plates to a shallow basin, while a corpse slumps beside a cracked silver bell. Whenever anyone steps near the door, a corpse-white flame flickers inside its keyhole and the engravings give off three faint sounds: a distant bell, a crow's dry click, and the soft scrape of soil.
