Origin

The pantheon is said to have emerged when mortals of many cities prayed against loneliness, repression, and ugly shame. Their pleas were answered by seven goddesses who gathered in a moonlit palace of mirrors and vowed to make desire beautiful, safe, and holy where possible, and terrifying where it is abused.

Cosmology

The cosmos of Pleasure is a city of layered pleasure-realms called the Seven Veils, each veil a divine district linked by moonlit bridges and secret doors in mirrors. Prayer, dance, perfume, touch, laughter, and confession can open passages between veils. Mortal cities contain hidden sanctuaries where a tavern back room, bathhouse, theater, or brothel may briefly become a doorway to the divine court.

Structure

A loose but reverent synod of seven sister-goddesses, each with her own cult, temple style, and sacred etiquette. There is no single pope; instead, high shrines convene a Moon Council when disputes arise. The religion accepts many expressions, from disciplined courtly devotion to riotous festivals, as long as consent, honesty, and sacred reciprocity are respected by the faithful.

Mortal Relations

This pantheon is unusually present in mortal life. Its temples are often bathhouses, theaters, salons, pleasure houses, inns, and private gardens. Clerics and devotees serve as entertainers, counselors, healers, courtesans, matchmakers, and protectors of those who earn their living with beauty or intimacy. Mortal worship is less about austere devotion and more about daily acts of care, delight, and chosen self-presentation.

Afterlife

The faithful believe pleasure is not an escape from death but proof that life was well-lived. The dead arrive in the Velvet Court, a moonlit afterlife of scented gardens, warm baths, music halls, and endless feasts where each soul is welcomed according to the joys they cherished in life. The most devoted are said to serve as attendants, dancers, musicians, and storytellers, keeping the dead adorned and delighted under the gaze of the pantheon.
