When the first mortal communities were dying of thirst and war, Vania rose from a hidden spring and divided the burden of survival into three holy tasks: to heal what is broken, to guard what is built, and to change what has gone rotten. Brannoc and Silt-Whisper emerged as her answering currents, each given authority so mortals would never be forced to choose between mercy, order, and adaptation alone.

The world is held in a ring of rivers, lakes, wells, and hidden springs that all lead, spiritually, to Vania's deeper waters. Above that current stands Brannoc's high road of sunlit judgment and oaths, while beneath it runs Silt-Whisper's shifting underflow of secrets, migration, and change. Every mortal life is imagined as a vessel drifting between these three currents.

A loose triadic religion rather than a strict hierarchy: river shrines to Vania, civic halls and bridge-temples to Brannoc, and hidden wayside altars to Silt-Whisper. Priests often belong to one god's cult while acknowledging the other two as necessary powers; doctrinal debates focus on how to balance mercy, law, and change in mortal life.

The gods are believed to walk closest to mortals when the world is threatened by drought, injustice, or despair. Vania most often chooses humble intermediaries; Brannoc works through oaths, institutions, and champions; Silt-Whisper appears through coincidences, disguises, and dangerous bargains. Clerics and paladins are common, but lay devotion is equally important.

The faithful believe the dead cross Vania's moonlit waters to reach the Reed-Halls, a gentle shore-realm where memories are preserved as silver fish and the righteous are sent back as rain, seed, or omen when mortals still need them. Those who betrayed the living are stranded in silt-choked backwaters until they can name the harm they caused.
