Drakoryn stabilized the magic binding all things, while Hrimora preserved what might otherwise vanish. Vhorath emerged as the hunger beyond creation, and the other eleven could not destroy it, only bind it beyond the Veiled Firmament. That binding is the Twelvefold Veil itself - not a place or an object, but the joined will of eleven gods holding a twelfth in check. The seal has never been absolute. Wherever mortal magic tears deeply enough - a broken ritual, a wound in reality large enough to bleed - a sliver of Vhorath's hunger can slip through, carrying corruption and unmaking with it.

Temples may honor one deity, several allied gods, or the whole Twelvefold Veil, though every tradition must account for Vhorath.

The gods remain distant enough to preserve mystery but close enough to alter mortal lives. Temples compete, cooperate, and interpret miracles differently, while adventurers may encounter a deity without recognizing them until a choice, sacrifice, or act of defiance reveals the truth.
