Appearance
Vael Soryn looks carved rather than born, with stark white skin that seems to drink warmth from torchlight instead of reflecting it. Their face is largely featureless in the way of a mask half completed by a distracted artisan, with huge blank white eyes ringed in dark shadow, a nearly absent nose, and a mouth that can bloom into startling beauty or unsettling sharpness depending on who they choose to be. Silver-white undercut hair falls in a soft, deliberate curtain over one temple while the shaved side is patterned with fine scar-lines from old shapechanging stress, like frost-cracked porcelain. They are more feminine presenting, yet the body beneath the tailored layers is unmistakably androgynous and frequently shifts in subtle ways that make gender feel like a decision rather than anatomy. Their movement is quiet and gliding, as if they are always arriving one heartbeat before the rest of them catches up, but when angry they become abrupt and birdlike, all angles and sudden stillness. The most contradictory detail is the tenderness of their hands, elegant and musician's careful, despite a gaze that can make a room feel interrogated.
“Low, velvety, and precise, with a stage performer's rhythm and a confessor's intimacy. Vael often chooses words that sound like compliments until the second meaning lands.”

Distinguishing Features
Blank white eyes with dark rings that make every expression feel like a spotlight scene
A nearly absent nose and feature-light face that can seem unfinished at a distance
Silver-white undercut hair with one side shaved in delicate scar patterns
A faint voice-box scar hidden under the collar, from a magical interrogation that nearly silenced them forever
A mirrored charm pinned inside their clothing that reflects the face they wore most recently
Voice
“Soft, resonant, and slightly double-toned, as if two nearly identical selves are speaking just out of phase.”
Clothing
Layered charcoal robes over fitted white undergarments, a sleeveless silver vest stitched with hidden pockets, soft boots designed for silent travel, and a detachable veil of black lace that can be worn as a mourning shroud, stage costume, or disguise aid
Body Language
Stillness is their default, but not relaxed stillness, rather the poised stillness of a bowstring. They angle their head to listen, rarely square their shoulders, and use their hands with stage-trained precision. When lying, they smile with only one side of the mouth. When sincere, they look directly at a person's throat instead of their eyes, as if measuring the shape of a voice.
