Averyn Tidescribe
Wizard 4
Averyn Tidescribe
Species
Elf
Appearance
Averyn is a reed-thin ancient elf who seems stitched together from salt, parchment, and moonlight. His skin is weathered like old ivory with faint silver crackles across his wrists and throat, as if his thoughts have been trying to escape through the years. He wears a robe of sun-faded blue linen covered in careful charcoal annotations, but his sleeves are always immaculate while the hem is perpetually sand-caked. His left ear is adorned with a heavy iron scholar's ring, yet he walks barefoot as if every pebble beneath him is a personal accusation. He moves with a drifting, tide-like sway, but snaps suddenly into sharp, birdlike stillness when a thought truly interests him.
“Measured, precise, and threaded with maritime metaphors; he often pauses mid-sentence as if listening to a second speaker just beyond the surf..”

Distinguishing Features
A milky scar across one eye that looks like a cracked moonbeam rather than an injury.
A string of tiny black stones tied around his right wrist, each one allegedly from a different vanished shoreline.
His notebook pages are all edged with salt crystals that never seem to melt.
He laughs only after he has already started crying, and he appears embarrassed by both.
Voice
“Low and dry, with a gravel-soft cadence that can become unexpectedly warm when he speaks of lost things or stubborn truths”
Clothing
A salt-stained scholar's robe layered over a patched wool undertunic, with a rope belt carrying chalk, seabone beads, and folded scraps of notes
Body Language
He points with two fingers as though measuring invisible distances, tilts his head to one side while listening, and often presses a thumb to his lower lip when a thought feels dangerous.
