Rector Flicker

Long before Moonhold learned to fear the quiet bells, a mortal evangelist of remarkable voice and persuasion preached in the cathedral of Little Fade. When his order was broken, he did not die cleanly. His body, soul, and the remains of a forbidden liturgical experiment were folded into infernal wax and bound to a new purpose. The result was Rector Flicker, a perfect sermon engine with a saint's patience and a butcher's certainty. He speaks slowly so every syllable can settle in the mind like warm wax.

Constructed of Wax and Soul. Rector Flicker is immune to disease and does not need to breathe, eat, drink, or sleep. His body is sealed wax over a hidden infernal core.
Regeneration. At the start of each of his turns, Rector Flicker regains 10 hit points if he has at least 1 hit point and his Candle-Crown is lit. He does not regain hit points if he took cold damage since the end of his last turn. If he is reduced to 0 hit points, his candle gutters out and he falls inert into a hard wax shell, though powerful magic may restore him.
Wax Harvest. When Rector Flicker or one of his wax allies dies within 60 feet of him, he can absorb the residue with a hiss of melting wax. The first time each round this occurs, he gains 10 temporary hit points or animates one corpse-sized Wax Servant in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of him. A Wax Servant uses the statistics of a zombie, except it has AC 13 and fire immunity.
Hypnotic Sermon. Creatures that start their turn within 10 feet of Rector Flicker must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or have disadvantage on the first saving throw they make before the end of that turn against being charmed or frightened by Rector Flicker.
Cold Dousing. The first time Rector Flicker takes cold damage each round, his Candle-Crown is extinguished until the start of his next turn. While extinguished, he loses fire resistance, cannot use Regeneration or Wax Harvest, and his Censer attacks deal no bonus fire damage.
Censer Chain. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 () bludgeoning damage plus 7 () fire damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pulled up to 10 feet toward Rector Flicker by the chain's snapping weight.
Thermal Shock. When Rector Flicker takes cold damage, he can harden his wax defensively. He gains +2 AC against the triggering attack, potentially causing it to miss. If the triggering attack misses, the attacker takes 5 cold damage as frost cracks across their weapon or limb.
Boiling Retort. When a creature within 10 feet of Rector Flicker hits him with a melee attack, he lashes back with a burst of boiling wax. The attacker takes 7 () fire damage unless it succeeds on a Dexterity saving throw.
Waxing Step. Rector Flicker moves up to half his speed without provoking opportunity attacks, leaving a smear of cooling wax in his wake. The first creature that enters that space before the start of his next turn must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or have its speed reduced by 10 feet until the end of its turn.
Censer Strike (Costs 2 Actions). He makes one Censer Chain attack.
Sermon of Compliance (Costs 2 Actions). He exhales a sermon of binding doctrine. One creature he can see within 30 feet must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed until the end of its next turn. While charmed this way, the creature cannot take reactions and must use its movement, if any, to move 10 feet toward the nearest visible ally of Rector Flicker or toward the nearest open flame if no ally is visible.
Wax Harvest (Costs 3 Actions). If a wax creature or animated wax minion of Rector Flicker died since the end of his last turn, he absorbs its remnants. He regains 15 hit points and can immediately create one Wax Servant in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of him, provided there is enough melted wax or a corpse to feed it.

Sermon of the DeadNecromancy— 1/day each, Rector Flicker can cast animate dead, bestow curse, and spirit guardians. His spirit guardians appear as screaming candle flames and drifting wax masks.
