The Black Cauldron

A squat cauldron of black iron, broad enough to hold a human corpse, with three clawlike feet and a heavy lid bearing the image of a horned skull. Its surface is cold even beside a roaring fire. Thin green vapor leaks from the seams whenever death magic is used nearby, and the inside is always stained with a faint, oily darkness that no mundane cleaning can remove.
