The Robbed Quartermaster's Cart

The wooden cart has already been thoroughly looted, its cargo scattered and its axle cracked from hurried abandonment. Beneath loose boards and torn canvas, however, the party finds the mundane remnants of a military supply run: a few arrows, basic camp equipment, a flask of oil, and a small purse of overlooked coins. The torn campaign pennant and brass ration tally suggest that the cart belonged to a local fighting force or mercenary company. The discoveries are modest, appropriate for a first-level party, but the marked token could lead to a larger cache, a surviving quartermaster, or trouble with whoever originally claimed the supplies.
