The Chrono-Silt Glade
A forty foot diameter clearing where the air is thick with golden, glittering silt. Within this zone, time does not flow linearly. Small animals may be seen skeletal and bleached one moment, then scurrying and youthful the next.

Detection
“The air shimmer with a heavy, amber haze. Trees at the edge of the glade have leaves that rapidly cycle through autumn colors and spring greens. A heavy, rhythmic thrumming vibrates through the ground.”
Standard Engagement
A creature enters the glade or starts its turn within the shimmering silt.
On Initiative 20, the silt causes Chronal Acceleration: A random creature in the glade must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or take 11 (2d10) psychic damage and move at double speed but take a -2 penalty to AC as they become desynchronized. On Initiative 10, the silt causes Temporal Drag: Every creature in the glade must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the creature is affected by the Slow spell until the end of its next turn.
The hazard is constant until the source is dispelled or the silt is settled.
Creatures that die within the glade decompose into dust within 1d4 rounds.
Creatures inside the glade have half-cover against ranged attacks originating from outside the glade due to the visual distortion.
If the glade is hit with at least 15 points of cold damage in a single turn, its routine does not trigger until the next round as the particles freeze and fall to the ground.
Any spell cast within the glade has a 25 percent chance to fail, consuming the spell slot as the energy is sucked into the chronal rift.
