This small cave complex was once a hidden holding site for smugglers, deserters, and troublemakers taken by a local cult. Now it has collapsed into a damp maze of stone chambers, a prison shrine at its heart, and a deeper den where the last keeper clings to power.

Cold cave air drifts through split stone, carrying damp earth, guano, and a faint medicinal sting from old incense burned too long ago. Water ticks from the ceiling into black pools, torches gutter in mineral drafts, and every sound seems to travel farther than it should.

☠ Threat

A fanatical cave keeper and his loyal scavengers control the lower chambers, using the shrine's old rites to embolden the prison's remaining captives and to ward the vault. He is not strong, but he is desperate, knows the passages well, and will try to lure intruders into the trap room or split them across the connected chambers.

History

Generations ago, smugglers carved this cave system into a discreet hideout and lockup beside a forgotten trade route. A local cave cult later seized it, converting the central chamber into a shrine and the side rooms into cells, a trap hall, and a guarded vault for offerings. When the cult fell apart, the surviving keeper sealed the deeper chambers and stayed behind with his beasts, hoping to rebuild.
