Scalewarren Underkeep

Beneath the ruined tower, something scaled is breeding in the dark.

7 roomsexploring rumors of weird dragon like creaturesmedium

Beneath a ruined watchtower lies a burrow of scaled predators, half den and half cult lair. The lower chambers suggest the creatures are not ordinary dragons but some bred-off, spiteful strain that has learned to defend stolen wealth and old secrets.

The dungeon reeks of wet stone, old smoke, and acrid reptile musk. Faint clacking echoes through the halls like claws on flagstone, and every chamber seems warmed by hidden breath vents that make the shadows shiver.

☠ Threat

A brood of warped dragon like creatures now rules the lower halls, led by a cunning matriarch that hoards heat, gold, and captives. They are nearing the point of hatching a fresh clutch, and the entire dungeon is wired with alarm tunnels, ambush routes, and scavenged traps meant to crush intruders before they reach the nest.

History

A century ago, the abandoned watchtower above this site was used by a border baron to collect tribute from caravan roads. When the barony fell, smugglers and beast-tamers occupied the lower cisterns and brought in dragon eggs from a distant raid, hoping to breed fear into profit. The experiment went wrong, producing vicious scaled things that outgrew their handlers and drove the surviving thieves deeper into the earth.
