The Bell-King's Crypt
Every bell tolls for the living, but the dead are listening.
The crypt descends beneath a ruined monastery in six increasingly dangerous tiers. Its first halls contain abandoned stores, records, and burial shrines, while the lowest chambers protect the chained remains of a dead wight-king. Every unlocked passage brings the intruders closer to the bell that keeps him dreaming.
Cold, dry air carries the smell of dust, candle grease, and old blood. Pale green witchlights burn in cracked skulls, while distant chains, dripping water, and soft choral whispers travel through the stone. The deeper halls grow warmer near the sealed heart crypt, where the walls pulse faintly like a living thing.
☠Threat
Odran Vey, the Bell-King, lies bound within the lowest vault, but his dreams reach through every chamber. He commands the dead by sound, awakening guardians whenever intruders disturb a seal or steal from a shrine. If freed, Odran will ring the black bell and draw every corpse in the valley into his service.
History
The crypt was built three centuries ago beneath Saint Vey's monastery by an order devoted to peaceful burial. Its halls became a refuge for plague victims, fallen knights, and nobles who feared grave robbers. The final abbot, Odran Vey, tried to preserve every soul in a single eternal hymn. The rite failed, creating a wight-king who has ruled the dead beneath the monastery ever since.
