Mirror wardens are rangers trained to read the hidden signatures of magic and behavior. Through patient observation, they reproduce an opponent’s movements, defenses, and even spells. A mirror warden is not a flawless copy; they are a tactical reflection, borrowing exactly what the moment demands and turning an enemy’s strengths against them.

Uses Ranger spellcasting. Mirror wardens can temporarily record and reproduce observed spells through Arcane Reflection, subject to the feature’s level, reaction, recording, and component limitations.

Clairvoyance Extends the warden’s ability to observe distant places and gather patterns.
Haste Temporarily copies the heightened speed and precision of an exceptional combatant.

4th-Level Ranger Magic

Greater Invisibility Provides a refined form of battlefield deception and evasive adaptation.
Dimension Door Recreates the sudden repositioning often seen in advanced magical combat.
Arcane Eye Creates a remote observer for reconnaissance and signature analysis.
Freedom of Movement Lets the warden adapt to restraints, difficult terrain, and hostile movement effects.

5th-Level Ranger Magic

Hold Monster Temporarily reproduces a control effect observed from a powerful caster.
Mislead Creates a convincing false image and supports the highest level of deceptive mimicry.
Scrying Allows long-distance observation of a known target or recurring rival.
True Seeing Represents the ultimate refinement of perceiving magical disguises and false forms.

Multiclassing

A character multiclassing into Ranger follows the normal 2024 multiclassing rules. Mirror warden features use Wisdom for spellcasting and require access to Ranger spellcasting. Arcane Reflection records and casts spells using Ranger spell slots and does not grant access to spells for other classes.

Training & Initiation

A candidate begins by memorizing movement rather than theory: footwork, breathing, grip, cadence, and the visible signs that precede a spell. Initiates train against illusionary duplicates, spar with instructors who deliberately change styles, and spend a final season observing real threats without attacking until they can identify the pattern beneath the performance.

Societal Perception

Ordinary people often find mirror wardens unsettling, especially when they copy voices or gestures. Soldiers respect their battlefield value, spellcasters may resent their ability to reproduce magic, and investigators prize their talent for noticing details others overlook.
