Primal Envoy

Primal Envoys are Covenantors who treat elemental power as a language of negotiation. Rather than impose their will upon a single force, they cultivate a second elemental bond and teach both powers to coexist. Their eidolons become moving sanctuaries, raising zones of elemental terrain that shelter allies, hinder aggressors, and reshape the battlefield without needless destruction. At the height of their practice, the eidolon briefly becomes a living avatar of balanced elemental force.

Protection from Energy Grants resistance against a chosen elemental damage type.
Sleet Storm Creates large-scale terrain control and disrupts concentration.
Wind Wall Establishes a protective barrier shaped by elemental negotiation.
Mass Healing Word Rapidly stabilizes several allies while preserving the Envoy’s action.

4th-Level Covenantor Spells

Control Water Reshapes a battlefield or resolves a conflict involving water.
Elemental Bane Improves the party’s ability to exploit a foe’s elemental vulnerability.
Freedom of Movement Lets an ally move through hostile terrain and elemental restraint.
Wall of Fire Creates a powerful boundary that can defend or divide the battlefield.

5th-Level Covenantor Spells

Commune with Nature Allows the Envoy to read the balance and disturbances of the surrounding land.
Control Winds Provides large-scale aerial control and protection.
Mass Cure Wounds Restores a group of allies after prolonged elemental conflict.
Wall of Stone Creates lasting shelter, barriers, and controlled terrain.

Multiclassing

A Primal Envoy follows the Elemental Covenantor multiclassing rules. It does not grant additional armor, weapon, or saving throw proficiencies beyond those granted by Elemental Covenantor. The subclass relies on Charisma, eidolon positioning, concentration, and access to Covenantor spell slots.

Proficiencies

No additional proficiencies. Primal Envoys inherit Elemental Training, including light armor, medium armor, shields, simple weapons, one artisan’s tool, and Primordial.

Training & Initiation

A prospective Primal Envoy first forms a Bloodbound Eidolon pact through the Elemental Covenantor tradition, then undergoes a second rite of recognition with an elemental force unlike the first. The initiation requires a negotiated promise rather than a trial of strength: the candidate must offer protection, service, or restitution to both lineages. The final vow is spoken in Primordial while the eidolon manifests two distinct elemental auras.

Societal Perception

Most ordinary people view Primal Envoys as reassuring but unsettling protectors. Their ability to calm storms, redirect elemental hazards, and create safe ground earns respect, while their dual lineage often makes them objects of suspicion among communities devoted to a single element. Nobles and merchants value them as negotiators; elemental cults may regard them as either honored mediators or dangerous heretics.
