Bloodbound are living anchors for creatures drawn from distant realms, wildernesses, dreams, and spirit roads. They do not shape magic into spells; they open their bodies as gates and endure the physical cost of holding another soul in the world. A Bloodbound fights beside a bonded companion, shares its pain, and gradually becomes marked by its nature.

None. Bloodbound abilities are supernatural bonds and physical endurance rather than spellcasting.

Multiclassing

Ability Score prerequisite: Strength 13 and Constitution 13. When multiclassing into Bloodbound, you gain proficiency with Light armor, Medium armor, Shields, and one Martial weapon. You do not gain Physical Initiation’s skill proficiencies or a bonded companion unless the DM allows it.

Training & Initiation

A prospective Bloodbound begins by learning to sense the true names and emotional echoes of living creatures. Initiation usually involves a prolonged physical ordeal, a ritual scar, and a first bond formed without circles or spoken spells. Most traditions require the initiate to release the creature if it refuses the bond, while darker orders teach domination through pain and exhaustion.

Societal Perception

Common people often find Bloodbound unsettling because animals react to them and their companions appear without spoken spells. They are respected as protectors in frontier communities, feared as living prisons in civilized lands, and hunted when their bonds involve fiends or unwilling intelligent creatures.
