Ruinous Pact

The Ruinous Pact is a Covenant Tradition for Elemental Covenantors who treat their bond as an engine of devastation. Ruinous Pact bearers hurl concentrated elemental violence, drive their eidolons through the battlefield with unnatural speed, and turn attacks against the eidolon into immediate punishment. Their greatest strength is coordinated aggression: the covenantor breaks an enemy’s defenses while the eidolon tears through the opening.

You advance as an Elemental Covenantor half-caster using Charisma. Ruinous Pact adds no separate spellcasting system; its features enhance Covenantor spells, Shared Conduit, Blood Surge, and the eidolon’s attacks.

Vitriolic Sphere Deals severe damage over time against a durable target.

5th-Level Covenantor Spells

Cone of Cold A wide burst capable of annihilating weakened formations.
Destructive Wave A powerful close-range blast that knocks enemies prone.
Flame Strike Calls down focused elemental devastation from above.
Steel Wind Strike Original Creation: A forbidden covenant technique that lets you and your eidolon mark several distant targets before striking them with simultaneous elemental force.

Multiclassing

You must meet the Elemental Covenantor’s multiclassing prerequisites. Ruinous Pact features rely on Charisma, your Covenantor spell save DC, Blood Surge, and the statistics and Elemental Lineage of your bonded eidolon.

Proficiencies

You gain no additional proficiencies from Ruinous Pact. You retain the Elemental Covenantor’s proficiency with light armor, medium armor, shields, simple weapons, one artisan’s tool, and Primordial.

Skill Options

Choose from the Elemental Covenantor’s available skill options.
Prioritize Athletics, Intimidation, Perception, or Survival if your character leads from the front.

Training & Initiation

A prospective Ruinous Pact bearer must survive a deliberate trial in which an eidolon is allowed to wound them before the blood contract is sealed. The initiate then learns to channel hostile elemental force through the shared life bond, usually under the supervision of a veteran bearer or a bound eidolon that has survived many battles. Training emphasizes rapid movement, target selection, and the discipline to stop an assault before it becomes uncontrolled devastation.

Societal Perception

Ruinous Pact bearers are often viewed as dangerous living weapons. Soldiers respect their effectiveness, civilians fear the collateral damage they can cause, and rulers frequently attempt to recruit or control them. Communities that have survived elemental disasters may regard them as necessary guardians, while others see the pact as an invitation to catastrophe.
